Celebrate Your Progress: Athletica's 2023 Wrap-Up & 2024 Vision!

Published 4 months ago • 1 min read

Hello Reader,

This marks my final Coaching Prof note for 2023, yet I'm eager to see its return in the New Year. I'm filled with gratitude for Athletica's journey thus far, all thanks to our dedicated team and the enduring support from our members, athletes, and coaches. Your feedback has been instrumental in shaping Athletica's growth. And we're just getting started.

Here are my top highlights of the year and some thoughts for 2024:

Consistency and health are key to becoming the athlete you aspire to be. Reflect on Cindy Maloney's age-group success in Kona by examining her training data. Also, our new calendar feature can help you schedule workouts around your busy life.

Remember, knowledge is power, and knowledge is infinite. Athletica is grounded in HIIT Science with its rich base of scientific research, yet we're always learning. To broaden your training insights, check out:

a. The new Athletica Forum — a space to learn from each other. Jump into discussions and share your knowledge. There's no such thing as a silly question.

b. The Athlete Compass Podcast — our hosts Paul Warloski and Marjaana Rakai, alongside yours truly, bring your questions to the forefront, helping you navigate your training. Don't miss our special Christmas podcast answering user questions.

c. The AI-coach session summary feature — a cutting-edge tool that educates and guides you, as highlighted by 2-time triathlon gold medalist and Athletica ambassador Alistair Brownlee in his guest blog.

Early Christmas presents for 2023:

You can now program your races for the entire upcoming year — 52 weeks!

Triathletes, you can now push your Athletica swim workouts to your Garmin watch. I've been trying it out myself and love it.

Looking ahead, we're preparing for significant growth in 2024. To meet our rapid growth, we're starting a small investment raise to help us scale up. If you're an accredited investor looking to get involved, reach out for more info.

Thank you to all our loyal subscribers and fans who have supported and helped us grow in 2023. We have delivered a ton of new features in Athletica this year and are excited to deliver even more in 2024.

We wish you all the best for the holidays and a healthy and happy training journey in the New Year!

Season’s best,

Paul Laursen, PhD

Hello Reader, Today, I want to take a moment to reflect not just on our scientific principles and successes, but on the lessons learned through real-world experiences—both the triumphs and the missteps. A Journey of Learning and Unlearning Recently, I stumbled upon a Substack titled "AI: Show me your working. No working, no marks". It struck a chord with me because, at Athletica, our roots in science demand that we not only leverage data but also openly share our methodologies—our "working,"...

Hello Reader, We’ve been talking up Athletica’s latest innovation, the Workout Reserve, in our recent communications. It’s become a staple feature, one you’ve probably seen displayed on your go-to Garmin device during a training session. In this update, I have the privilege of sharing an exceptional application of the Workout Reserve, presented by its creator, Dr. Andrea Zignoli. His analysis, published here in our blog, underscores how this proprietary tool was pivotal in charting Enrico...

Hello Reader, As co-founder of Athletica.ai and someone who has dedicated a significant portion of my career to understanding and enhancing human performance, I’ve had the privilege of exploring the frontiers of athletic training. Today, I want to share a part of this journey that has fundamentally shaped our approach at Athletica.ai: the integration of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and prolonged endurance training to unlock peak performance. Rewind to 2010, when I penned an invited...
